PERFLUORON™* Perfluoro-n-octane liquid is an intraoperative tool indicated for use during vitreoretinal surgery in patients with primary or recurrent retinal detachment complicated by penetrating ocular trauma, giant retinal tear(s) or proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR).

PERFLUORON™*Perfluoro-n-octane liquid, by virtue of its high specific gravity, functions as a mechanical tool during vitreoretinal surgery, providing hydrokinetic manipulation of the detached retina. This high specific gravity allows PERFLUORON™* to be infused over the posterior portion of the retina to facilitate retinal flattening and anterior displacement of subretinal fluid.
