"ZORRO" 23-GAUGE INSERTION TECHNIQUE
We have supposed that an incision performed parallel to the scleral fibers could potentially seal quicker. Incision construction has to be as oblique as possible in order to achieve a tunnel-like effect, and as long as possible. To achieve a good incision we created oblique and direct Zorro incisions using Alcon 23-gauge one-step vitrectomy system: the blade is inserted at an oblique angle of 10-15 degrees, and enters the vitreous without straightening.
